Chapter History

Through the work of numerous outstanding women before us, the Beta Nu Chapter has thrived, and continues to grow along with its members. Phi Mu has been an organization since 1852... however, our chapter has not been around nearly as long. 

In 1924, a local sorority called Gamma Chi was established at Bethany College. Gamma Chi went on to join with the national Alpha Delta Theta, which merged with Phi Mu in 1939. Since then, the Beta Nu Chapter has grown, thrived and developed. We continue the tradition of excellence for today's developing young woman. 

Year after year, the Beta Nu Chapter has continued to develop a diverse and close knit group of women who continually encourages members to excel.
